In January 2008, I did something I knew would either save me or destroy me.

Along with my incredibly supportive wife, the decision was made for me to exit the world of steady work and consistent pay checks for the uncertain world of working for myself. I am an artist. A creative. A free spirit who was simply not thriving in the traditional corporate world.

Since making that decision, I've been fortunate enough to follow my passions of writing and filmmaking. I have wonderful clients who I write for on a freelance basis; one of which, CarGurus.com, is a profitable start-up I'm proud to be associated with. In a little over two years of working for them, I've published over 700 auto-related articles, all of which can be viewed here.

Other writing work has been published by Q View Northwest (examples are here) and Relief Journal (examples are here).

On the film side, I'm involved with a local production currently shooting the second season of a Web series. The first season can be viewed here. I've also written a feature-length movie script and am in the process of producing several short films.

Perhaps my proudest accomplishment so far is my published children's book, Your Father Forever (buy it here or see my author profile here.) It was inspired by the birth of my son and published in time for a second dose of inspiration from my daughter.

Also, I've completed two novels and am in the process of searching for literary representation.

Deciding to work for myself and pursue my dreams not only saved me, it has defined me.
